“It’s been so long since I’ve felt overwhelmed, stressed out or pulled in a million different directions.”
When was the last time you said that to yourself? Yeah, me neither.
That’s why I’ve felt the call to start a women’s Bible study. But, it is not meant to be just any Bible study. It’s one specifically for women who feel they absolutely have no time to go to Bible study. Let me explain.
Our environment is one where we sit in traffic, plodding along (at a snail’s pace) only to arrive at a designated place where we push ourselves at break-neck speed, only to get back in traffic (going at an even slower snail’s pace) only to … well, you get the idea. What can we do about it? We can go to God, seek out scripture, and fellowship with other sisters trying to keep pace with this NOVA craziness. It’s time we make room for God in our schedule.
I hope you’ll join us for our new Bible study: A Woman Overwhelmed. As author Hayley DiMarco writes: “We were created to be overwhelmed, not with the impossibility of our to-do lists or our circumstances but with the possibility of God working in and through us. Our purpose is to be engulfed not by the stuff of this world, the creation, but by the Creator. Trouble is that we often forget this and instead focus on our plans and pains.”
We’ll look at the life of Mary, Jesus’ mother. (Talk about a woman with the potential of being overwhelmed!) We’ll also look at ways our sense of being overwhelmed can keep us from fully experiencing God’s glory that surrounds us. (No need to pack your bags for a guilt trip; this class is meant to inspire and encourage!)
