What’s Happening at Trinity

Church & Society

by Kelly Slone

Church and Society is sponsoring a food drive for SHARE. The food pantry serves needy families in our community. The following products are desperately needed:

ketchup
mayonnaise
mustard
white sugar
vegetable oil
spaghetti sauce
breakfast cereals
jelly (grape & strawberry)
coffee (ground or instant)
black tea
toothpaste
toothbrushes
diapers (any size, but sizes 3 & 4 are most requested)
feminine hygiene products

Please leave your donations in the collection boxes located in the foyers of the sanctuary or in the Fellowship Building. Thank you for helping us take care of SHARE and the hungry, needy families in our area!

Special thanks to all who donated kitchen items in June to Langley Residential Support Services. They are already putting them to good use.

 Crafts for a Cause

craftsThere is a room in the corner of the Sanctuary building that is filled with scraps of fabric, bags of stuffing and piles of pretty paper. It’s a bit of a mess, but that’s a good thing because it’s where Crafts for a Cause meets to make the pillows, bears, dolls, shelter blankets and stamped cards that go to local hospitals. Last month, the group delivered a pile of handmade cards to the Ronald McDonald House at Fairfax Hospital, where families stay while children undergo cancer treatment. The donation was gratefully received.

Crafts for a Cause will meet twice in July – on Mon, July 7, and Mon. July 21, at 7 p.m. in Room 122. Everyone’s welcome (even if you think you’re not very “crafty”). Materials and instruction provided. For more information, contact Molly Sprouse at 703-356-4896 or mollysprouse@gmail.com.
